The Final Chapter

We are in the last few days with Deb. She is comfortable. Adrianne and Miranda are here with us now. We are waiting for the final things that Deb is here to accomplish for His purposes and His glory. We are thankful for the many people who have reached out to us with so many different things; texts, email, visits, food, prayers and flowers. I know Debbie has touched so many lives and her faithful journey has been an inspiration to me and many of you. We are weary but hopeful, saddened but thankful, blessed by our loving God's tight embrace. He is never farther than the breath we take, not distracted or unfocused. His Holy Spirit has been holding Debbie so close as her physical body does what it was created to do in it's final shutdown.
My Lord and savior has been whispering to me several times a day, when I get weary; "...stay awake with me...' from the Gethsemene text in Matthew 26:38. He is reminding me to Trust Him, watch Him and don't let the circumstances around me distract me from His work through Debbie in these final days. Keep awake and alert so I don't miss anything He is doing in keeping His promise to Debbie and to us all, that through Christ, we live on in His perfect love and eternal relationship. God is faithful in all things.

Miranda is publishing Debbie's journal on a separate blog: Click here We often find times when Christ our Lord is carrying us because we are too weak to walk, but we always know Jesus is right in the middle of it leading us through. My prayers are with Debbie and you constantly. My prayer is that Debbie continue in this gentle journey in the Lord's hands and the rest of the family be given strength and courage. I'm sending love by the bushel…as Grandma Baldwin used to say,"A bushel of love is all the love there is in the world."

What a promise to rely on as we each will come to the end of this life on earth:

Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalms 9:10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Bart, Debbie, Miranda , Luong and families, We continue to raise Debbie up in prayers and know that God will lift her up in his time and be with you as she moves on to her Heavenly home.

Bart: I am a friend of Chris and Tom Holmes. My husband passed in December from pancreatic cancer. I don't know Debbie, but I am praying for her and the family. I don't know how I would have handled my situation without Jesus in my life. I am sure you feel the same way. Peace and blessings to you all....

Bart, your faith and testimony today strengthens my own faith. Thanks for always looking to the eternal. I love Debbie as a sister in Christ and pray for her many times a day. What a privilege you, Adrienne and Miranda have in being with her as she is transformed to her eternal rest. We have had this privilege with several of our family members and it enriches our faith and we know God is faithful to bring comfort in many ways. I have loved your scripture references and the ones Tricia sent today. Thank you again for your posts.
