It has been a wonderful fall. Debbie has been under treatment with the chemo drug CisPlatin since September and we just received the latest results from her December PET scan December 9th. The doctor was pleased to report that Deb is exhibiting NED [ NO Evidence of Disease]. It is not a cure but the drug has effectively reduced the activity of the cancer cells in her liver to a place where they don't exhibit any evidence of activity. He has not seen this drug work as effectively as it has with Deb when there was only a 20% success rate for her condition. She will now have a break from all treatment for a couple of months to see how she does. He is still looking for something for maintenance but she has had all the drugs available for her type of cancer. There is a Cancer Conference in San Antonio during the week of Dec. 16th, where he might learn of something new. She has experienced significant hearing loss from the drug as well as memory deficiencies. She also still continues to have significant liver pain from the treatment and effects of tissue changes from the cancer. This will continue for several months and her hearing should also improve over time. In the meantime, she should have a great holiday and a wonderful new year. All the kids are coming home for Christmas. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Our God is faithful and is always with us as we journey with Him into tomorrow.

Miranda is publishing Debbie's journal on a separate blog: Click here We often find times when Christ our Lord is carrying us because we are too weak to walk, but we always know Jesus is right in the middle of it leading us through.
