Monday Monday...

Marilyn shared a scripture passage with us that help lift me out of the Monday morning doldrums.  Ps. 31:11-12 "You turned my wailing into dancing: You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever."
It's been a long weekend, Debbie continues to see her body shutting down.  The connections between her thoughts and the muscles in her throat and mouth that enable her to share those thoughts has broken down, which is a little frustrating for her and for us.  She rarely makes eye contact but we know she hears the things we say as sometimes  tries to respond but just isn't able to articulate.  I know there are a lot of friends who would like to stop by, but we're at the point where that is just not possible.  We are so thankful for all the texts and emails we receive that give us encouragement and affirmation of how much Deb is loved.  I try to take as many phone calls as possible but sometimes I just don't have the energy.
Thank you all for your constant thoughts and prayers, we are so blessed by all of you.

Bart & Debbie,
I am praying for you both during this difficult time. I wanted to share this with you.
Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear I will help you.

We are praying for you both during this difficult time. Michael appreciated the wonderful dishes you fixed for the Rockwell gang. You are a wonderful person. Your strength and encouragement gave me strength to get our foster daughter thorough her breast cancer. We want to say thank you!! We will miss you!!

My tears flow and know how tender this time is for you both. I continue to pray for the presence of God illuminating his Spirit upon you with each moment of the day. I honor your request for no visits. I am so grateful for the last time I spent with Debbie about a month ago or less. She is my inspiration and I have learned so much about faith and courage from her. One of the favorite hymns the hospice nurse for my mom sang to her prior to her death was "Softly and Tenderly" Jesus is calling.......... I have that on my heart right now.
Please know Bart you are being prayed for too. May strength and courage be yours as you love Debbie and hold her tightly. I know Jesus loves you both more than any of us can understand. He is waiting.........

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both in this time. Words seem so inadequate to express our feelings at this time but God can hear the crying of our hearts for you and Debbie.

This is a place we shared Debbie's journey. Miranda is publishing Debbie's journal on a separate blog: Click here  We often find times when Christ our Lord is carrying us because we are too weak to walk, but we always know Jesus is right in the middle of it leading us through. All Praise and glory be to God our creator, redeemer and sustainer.
