Live to Fight another Day

We received the results of Deb's latest PET scan and as we thought, the cancer is once again actively invading her liver.  It is over 50% involved.  It also showed some slight development on one of her bones, but at this point that is not a concern.
The Dr. increased her pain meds and will start her on Doxil which is a derivative of one of the first chemo drugs she was on 4 years ago.  Doxil will not increase her neuropathy which has worsened significantly from the Cisplatin she was on in the fall but she will lose her hair again.
We have been encouraged by the Dr. to take our Nashville/New York trip at the end of April and he has scheduled her treatments to work around those plans.
She continues to be in good spirits and will be happy to have her pain medications increased to deal with the pain caused by the growth of the cancer in her liver.  We are thankful for new strategies to help keep her cancer under control and still provide a good quality of life.  She is so strong and tolerant of all she has been through and still remains faithful to her journey on which God is leading us.

Don't be afraid.  I am with you.  Don't tremble with fear.  I am your God.  I will make your strong, as I protect you with my Arm and give you victories.                                        Isaiah 41:10

Debbie, I am just reading this latest post. To God be the Glory for the great things he has done, but know there is a disappointment in the results too. I will continue to pray for you and can better pray what is needed based on this post. I am thrilled to hear about your trip in April! May God strengthen you with energy and the knowledge of his care for you even beyond that which you can sense.

This is a place we shared Debbie's journey. Miranda is publishing Debbie's journal on a separate blog: Click here  We often find times when Christ our Lord is carrying us because we are too weak to walk, but we always know Jesus is right in the middle of it leading us through. All Praise and glory be to God our creator, redeemer and sustainer.
