At Peace, At Home Full of Joy in Christ our Savior

Debbie, my bride of almost 42 years, walked home hand in hand with our God last night around 9 pm.  We were blessed to be there, Adrianne, Miranda, her sister Vicki and her husband Bill.  While we are saddened that we will not have her next to us, or at the other end of a wonderful phone conversation,  or the recipient of her thoughtfulness and concern for those she loved, we celebrate with great joy the victory of a life that doesn't end here but continues forever in the perfect relationship with a passionate, loving God through Jesus Christ.
Yesterday as Chaplain Brenda was with us, she picked up Sarah Young's 'Jesus Calling' and read the message/passage for May 19th.  Here is an excerpt [written in the voice of Jesus to us, pulled from Holy Scripture]:
"I want you to know how safe and secure you are in My Presence.  That is a fact, totally independent of your feelings.  You are on your way to Heaven; nothing can prevent you from reaching that destination.  There you will see Me face to Face, and your Joy will be off the charts by any earthly standards. Even now, you are never separated from Me, though you must see Me through the eyes of faith.  I will walk with you until the end of time, and onward into eternity." From 1 Corinthians 13:12; Pslam 29:11
May Debbie's Jesus also bring you Joy through your tears knowing that through Him, we will one day see her again.  As Sawyer, our oldest grandson said, "when we get to heaven and we see Bebe again, she will have things planned out for us to do together."  He knows his grandma and he knows our God.  'nough said.

Bart

As plans are made for Debbie's memorial service, we will place that information here.  Thank you to all of our friends for so much.

Oh Bart - I'm so sorry. I will call Mom (Betty). We pray for peace and comfort for you and the girls as you continue your life journey without Debbie's earthly presence. She was like a daughter to my mother. Much love to you all. - Mary

The May 19th, message in 'Jesus Calling' was written with Debbie in mind for this day of Debbie's celebration in Heaven. All of the love that she will rain down on each of us from heaven, we will feel each day, as she waits for each of our passage into heaven.

As Sawyer shared, she will be there waiting and having plans for each of us; the murals Debbie will paint, for us all to enjoy, she’ll be waiting with music turned on, her dancing shoes ready and waiting, gardens to visit when we each take that passage into heaven.

May God's hand continue to be laid on each of you as you move forward in your lives here on earth, in preparation for your journey.

Our hearts are with you, Bart and your family every step of the way on this journey. I remember coming to your wedding 42 years ago.which seems like yesterday in many ways. What a gift God has given you in the joy and peace you have known with each other as a family. Ben will represent our family as you celebrate the gift of Debbie's life. I'll be on the east coast for a friend's 80th birthday. Rodney used to say it is good to "die a good death." Debbie had a good life and died a good death. Blessings to you all.

We are so sorry for your loss. Debbie was such a special person. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Debbie had such a giving heart and a gentle spirit. It's hard to understand why people are taken from us, Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over your family.

We know that Debbie has simply gone ahead of us, called home by Jesus whom she loved and trusted fully. Her journey was not easy, but her rest and joy are eternal. We will miss her, her sweetness, her honesty, her eye for beauty and her unshakeable love. She is healed, whole and healthy. Glory to God for his faithfulness and his promise of life eternal!

This is a place we shared Debbie's journey. Miranda is publishing Debbie's journal on a separate blog: Click here  We often find times when Christ our Lord is carrying us because we are too weak to walk, but we always know Jesus is right in the middle of it leading us through. All Praise and glory be to God our creator, redeemer and sustainer.
